'Tis the season to stay active, tips from us!
It's easy to lose sight of your fitness in December with shorter days, colder weather & the urge to get social. Here's our tips to stay active this December & go into the New Year strong.
1. CONSISTENCY OVER INTENSITY
Just show up! No pressure for a PB, just stay active to stay sane & make going into January easier.
2. KEEP THE MENTAL BENEFITS TOP OF MIND
Boosting your mood & reducing stress is well worth the time investment at this time of year!
3. THINK OF THE HEALTH BENEFITS
Exercise gives your immune system a much needed boost. So think of the preventive benefits of avoiding or reducing the impact of winter illnesses. Movement is medicine & prevention is better than cure!
4. REMEMBER IT’S SOCIAL TOO!
If you're coming to the studio arrive 5 minutes early & find a reason to chat to someone! Not only will it make you feel good it may make their day too. Research shows you'll be more consistent if exercise is social.
5. BUILD ROUTINE
Set your target for the week, but be flexible on exact days & times. It's amazing how having a shower or cleaning our teeth are non negotiables, but physical activity, which could extend your life, is some how disposable when other things get in the way. Plan your times, make it routine, prioritise it!
